Meet Your Speaker
Monica Wiedel Lubinski
Founder, Association for Nature Based Education
Monica Wiedel Lubinski is a nationally recognized leader in nature based early childhood education with nearly three decades of experience. She founded Maryland’s second licensed, NAEYC accredited nature preschool and has launched several additional nature based programs across the Baltimore region. As the founder of the Association for Nature Based Education, she created the widely adopted Nature Based Teacher Certification program, completed by more than 2,000 educators. Monica’s advocacy includes co chairing national and state initiatives that expand equitable access to outdoor learning, and she has authored influential books, including Nature Based Early Childhood Education (NAEYC, 2025). She also teaches in higher education and continues to mentor educators while advancing nature based learning nationwide.
